RE: Jayflight vs Eagle Jayco Trailers

I'm glad you all got good deals on your Eagle. I have been trying to deal with Colerain RV on a new 320RLDS but they won't come down below 31K for theirs. Not much of a buyers market there.
Be patient. I spent about 6 months last year trying to work a deal with Colerain RV. I made it clear our current rig was fine and we would only make a move if it was at our budgeted price. Made about 8 visits over last summer and I think they got tired of seeing me, they finally gave us the deal I wanted!
Also you should check out RVdirect.com You should be able to get that rig for around $24K from a wholesaler. Good Luck!

RE: Cool Mods

a basic flat blade auto fuse fits perfectly between the pins. You dont need to buy and extra parts. I have used a 10A on several occasions.

RE: Windstorm

I am here in a northern suburb of Cincinnati and we had a confirmed wind gust of 84 mph and 5 more at 75 mph. We had 3 hours of sustained 60 mph winds. We lost power at approx 2pm last Sunday. I made a 1 1/2 hr run north to my brothers to borrow his 9.5 KW generator. This saved everything in our fridge and freezer as well as a very happy neighbor I was able to share with. We got power restored somewhere around 4am Wednesday morning. I have several co-workers however that still do not have any power. This was one for the record books!!

RE: Best Electric Tongue Jack

I had bought a new Ultra Fab 3000 for my old rig and I bought a remanufactured Ultra Fab 3500 from a guy on Ebay for my new rig. I have had great luck with both. The remanufactured unit was alot cheaper and still comes with the one year warranty.

RE: TT 12 volt electrical mod - kind of

I just use a 10amp blade fuse directly into the plug end, it fits perfectly between the contacts. I have been doing this for a few years now.

RE: mini van tow vehicle

Hello, Can anyone tell me my towing capacity for a 2001 Dodge Caravan SE with 3.3 litre (no tow package). I have a line on a 2003 Coleman Westlake which comes in at 2,600 lbs. Can I tow with a standard minivan?
I used to have a 2000 Westlake. I towed for one season with a Chrysler Town & Country that did have the factory tow package. I had my Westlake weighed at a CAT scale on 2 different occasions and after fully loading it with all my gear for a week long trip I came in at 3100 lbs. I quickly upgraded to a Expy to tow with after only one season. The MV would tow it on flat roads really well, but really struggled on any hills. I was afraid I would tear up the MV over the long term towing this kind of weight.

Look how empty the campground was the week of July 4th!! We were one of 4 sites taken (including the host) for most of the week. We had an entire section all to ourselves! A few more joined for the holiday weekend.

RE: Deer

I am setting here drinking coffee and going through the forum when something caught my eye. I looked up and saw four bucks in velvet walk through our camp site. We are at Skidaway State Park near Savannah, GA.
One of my favorite things to do is sit outside in the morning with the coffee mug and just watch nature go by. We will be heading out tomorrow to Big South Fork National Park for 8 days and our favorite site. We normally see all kinds of deer and turkey. Last year we even saw a black bear on a hike. It was on a hike to appropriately named "Bear Creek Overlook"

RE: Electric awning VS hand operated?

DW and I are considering moving from our HTT to a TT. We've been looking at various makes/models the last couple weeks, some with electric awnings, some with hand operated ones. We really like a particular Jayco Eagle model, it has an electric awning as standard.
Salesguy said you should pull it in when it rains. Then why have an awning?? Won't the mat underneath get soaked. The thing I like about our hand operated awning is we leave it slanted and the rain rolls right off. IIRC the electric awning isn't capable of being slanted.
Looking for your thoughts.
If you are looking at the Eagle line, it should have the steep pitched model. I have used mine several times in the rain so far and have had no problems. With the steep pitched model, rain does not collect and there is no need to have it tilted to one side. If by chance it does collect, there is an auto dump feature, although from what I have read, it is anyones guess which side it will decide to dump too.

RE: water pump pressure seems low

Check to see if you have a winterizer valve that is left open. I had this happen to me this spring, I forgot to close the valve that sucks in the antifreeze so it was sucking in air through that line and not allowing the pressure to build. Good Luck
